National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center Established in Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon Technology Development Co., Ltd.
On October 29, it is learnt from the Development and Reform Commission of Jiangsu Province that the application of Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon Technology Development Co., Ltd. for the establishment of the “National-Local Engineering Research Center for Advanced Silicon Material Production Technology” was approved and named by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China. The Center will be named by the National Development and Reform Commission at Shenzhen International High-Tech Achievement Trade Fair in November, 2012 and it is the first state-level engineering research center successfully applied by GCL Group, which is of great significance to the company and will help to promote the scientific and technological innovation of the company, enhance its independent innovation ability, accelerate its strategic transformation, strengthen the core competitiveness of the company and build up a leading science and technology enterprise in PV new energy industry.
The “National-Local Engineering Research Center for Advanced Silicon Material Production Technology” takes full advantage of the independent innovation approaches of the GCL Group, follow the guidance of the industrial policy of our county as well as the strategic planning of GCL Group to integrate the most advanced science and technology resources across the country and break thorough the bottleneck that restricts the development of the production technologies of polysilicon and other related silicon materials. Focusing on the building of 5 platforms, including the new-generation Siemens polysilicon production technology, grain silicon fluidized bed production technology, advanced silicon material production technology, industrial development center and advanced silicon material testing center, the Center will be built into a leading state-level innovative research and development platform with great influence in the industry that integrates research and development, design, pilot test, incubation and open services to further improve the international competitiveness of the silicon material industry in our country and support the sustainable development of the PV new energy industry through product and technology innovation, industrial transformation, the development of self-owned intellectual property rights, the demonstration and promotion of technological achievements and the cultivation and gathering of innovative talents.
The application for the establishment of state-local joint engineering research center this year is very demanding and full of competition. Only the application of 7 enterprises and institutes were approved, mainly colleges and universities in Nanjing and South Jiangsu Province. Under such touch situations, Jiangsu Zhongneng was recognized by experts of the industry and highly appreciated by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Development and Reform Commission of Jiangsu Province and other relevant departments for its strength in science and technology innovation and outstanding business performance and it is not easy to get the approval for the establishment of such a state-level science and technology innovation center.
